2025 Summary
The third annual Answers for AWS survey ran from January 15 to February 15, 2025 and was promoted by the amazing AWS community. Thank you to everyone who participated!

The survey covered the following categories:
- Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD
- Serverless
- Containers
- NoSQL Databases
- Event driven architectures & event busses
- AI & Machine Learning
Some notable highlights include:
- The most loved AWS service is Simple Notification Service (SNS) 🎉. It had the highest positive/negative split of any service across any category.
- Serverless Framework has made a comeback to take the top spot in the Serverless category, beating both AWS SAM and CDK.
- Growth of CDK usage has stalled, gaining no traction across IaC or Serverless since 2024.
- Jenkins will not die. It is the most hated service across all categories (53% would not use it again) yet usage remains over 78%.
- The Events Buses & Architectures category is largely static, with no major changes in usage and SNS still dominating.
- Amazon Bedrock doesn't have the most usage (OpenAI retains top spot), but those who do use it tend to love it (94% retention).
- Graviton adoption is high, with 53% of participants preferring it over x86.
- This year, a total of 68 AWS Community Heroes and Community Builders completed the survey (17%).
- The demographics of participants is showing more age and experience compared to previous years. In 2025, 23% have more than 15 years of AWS experience. Perhaps this is not surprising, but without new youth learning AWS, what happens next?
